So, NarroWay is going to Morganton, NC this coming Sunday. Mimosa Christian Counseling Center is sponsoring a special event at Crosslink Church and NarroWay will be performing "John, His Story" at 5pm on Sunday, June 3. The counseling center is sponsoring the show as a fundraiser and to generate awareness of their mission. It's also a great opportunity to generate awareness of NarroWay. So, the cast of "John, His Story," is packing their bags and taking to the road.
I just can't figure out why I wasn't invited to join the cast. Surely, they could have written in a special guest appearance for yours truly. Maybe.... John rides in on his beautiful camel to start the show.... or maybe the gorgeous camel treks through the dessert carrying food and water so John doesn't have to live on wild locust and honey.... or maybe when John gets arrested, the brave camel comes to his rescue..... or...or.... Surely there is some way I could make a guest appearance.
Oh, wait.... say what? "John, His Story" isn't really about John and the Camel? Well, you know, it could be! I would gladly offer my services to help with the minor re-write.
In all actuality, however, "John, His Story" is really about the book of John. And even though it doesn't feature an amazing, intelligent, gorgeous camel, it is a wonderful show! The show runs through the entire book of John, giving a glimpse of Jesus through the eyes of those who encountered him face to face. It is an amazing show that uses just four actors to portray 27 different characters from the book of John. It is not a NarroWay original, but nevertheless, it is a great show! In fact, it was the first Christian show to appear off-Broadway in New York. And the cast of NarroWay makes it absolutely superb!
So, if you live anywhere around the Morganton area, take advantage of this opportunity and catch NarroWay on the road. I'm thinking about renting a Volkswagen Beetle and driving up there myself!
